Why I Do Tech Blogging

When it comes to the latest technology, it seems that historically Christians (except for some mavericks) tend to lag way behind.

I even read that when radio came there were preachers who denounced it as evil because Satan is the prince of the power of the air. And, there were those who turned the Y2K issue into an apocalyptic issue.

Now, we have the Internet.

Yes, there were so-called evils of the Internet such as pornography and cyber-bullying. But I am one of those who believe that, just as God used the roads that the Roman Empire built to spread the Gospel, so also He can use the worldwide web.

Blogging about technology is an expression of that belief.

I started blogging way back in 2005. When I was pastoring a church in Makati, I wrote them a letter every Sunday to be inserted in the worship bulletin. I decided to post it online in my first blog, Straight From Pastor Ey. I wrote about current events and faith issues. The feedback encouraged me to blog more. Then, I decided to try my hand in tech blogging also.

Raffy Pedrajita a.k.a. Digital Spidey gave me my first “break.” My first article was when I wrote about what I learned from “The Secret to Getting Customers and Clients Online” seminar by the Internet Marketing guru, Ben Francia. (Later on, Ben Francia became my coach on Internet Marketing and one of my close friends.)

Now I decided to come up with this second blog to focus on “Tech News and Reviews that Matter to Us.” Other than being a compilation of the articles I wrote for Digital Spidey, I would share tech stuffs and trends that I think would benefit Christians and churches.

I believe technology is a stewardship. And we are to make the most of it.
